Yisrael Kristal

Yisrael Kristal was a Polish-Israeli confectioner and supercentenarian, born in 1903 in Maleniec, Congress Poland. He led a remarkable life, marked by his survival of the Holocaust, including time in the Łódź Ghetto and Auschwitz concentration camp. Following the war, Kristal emigrated to Israel in 1950, where he would go on to live a long and notable life.
As he aged, Kristal gained recognition for his extraordinary longevity. In 2014, he was identified as the oldest known living Holocaust survivor, a testament to his enduring spirit. Two years later, with the passing of Yasutaro Koide on January 18, 2016, Kristal became recognized as the world's oldest living man. He passed away in 2017, at the age of 114, leaving behind a legacy as a survivor, a businessman, and one of the most notable supercentenarians of his time.
