Andy Shernoff is a renowned American musician, songwriter, and record producer born in 1952. His claim to fame lies in being a founding member of the influential New York punk band, The Dictators. As a key contributor to the band, Shernoff played a multifaceted role, handling bass guitar, keyboards, and providing backing vocals, as well as occasional lead vocals. His songwriting skills were also instrumental in shaping the band's sound, as he penned nearly all of their songs.
Beyond his work with The Dictators, Shernoff has been involved in various other musical endeavors. Notably, he was a part of Manitoba's Wild Kingdom, a project that featured several former Dictators members. Additionally, Shernoff collaborated with Joey Ramone on his debut studio album, Don't Worry About Me. Their creative partnership extended to co-writing four songs for the Ramones, further solidifying Shernoff's reputation as a talented songwriter and producer within the punk rock genre.
