Chip Zien

Jerome Herbert "Chip" Zien is a notable American actor with a distinguished career in film and theater. He has made a lasting impact on the Broadway stage, particularly with his iconic portrayal of the Baker in the original production of Stephen Sondheim's musical Into the Woods. This role has become closely associated with Zien, showcasing his talent and versatility as a performer.

In addition to his work in Into the Woods, Zien has appeared in a series of musicals by William Finn, including the entirety of the "Marvin Trilogy". He played the title character in In Trousers and took on the role of Dr. Mendel in March of the Falsettos, Falsettoland, and Falsettos. Zien's career has continued to thrive, with a critically acclaimed return to Broadway in 2023 as Rabbi Josef Roman Cycowski in the musical Harmony, created by Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman.
