Lucille Eichengreen
sobreviviente del Holocausto, escritora, oradora y agente de seguros alemana-estadounidense
Lucille Eichengreen was an American memoirist born in 1925, whose life was profoundly shaped by her experiences during World War II. She survived the harsh conditions of the Łódź Ghetto and the Nazi concentration camps of Auschwitz, Neuengamme, and Bergen-Belsen, ultimately emerging as a testament to resilience and strength. Following the war, Eichengreen relocated to the United States in 1946, where she built a new life, marrying and raising two sons.
As a memoirist, Eichengreen shared her story with the world through her 1994 publication, From Ashes to Life: My Memories of the Holocaust. Her writings and lectures provided a personal and historical account of the Holocaust, educating audiences at libraries, schools, and universities in both the United States and Germany. Eichengreen's contributions to historical awareness were further recognized through her participation in a documentary about life in the Łódź Ghetto, produced by the University of Giessen, for which she received an honorary doctorate. She passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of remembrance and education.
