cantante estadounidense

Mary Weiss was a prominent American vocalist in the pop music scene, born in 1948. She gained widespread recognition as the lead singer of the Shangri-Las, a notable group in the 1960s. During her time with the Shangri-Las, the band achieved significant success, particularly with their single "Leader of the Pack," which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1964.

After her initial success, Weiss stepped back from the music industry for an extended period. She pursued other interests, including interior design. However, in 2007, she returned to music, recording her first and only solo album in collaboration with Norton Records. This marked a notable comeback for Weiss, who passed away in 2024 at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy as a talented vocalist and a memorable figure in the history of American pop music.
