Miller Wolf Oberman

American poet

Miller Wolf Oberman is an American poet recognized for his contributions to literature. His poetic works have garnered several notable awards, including a Ruth Lilly fellowship and the 92nd St Y's Boston Review/Discovery Prize in 2016. Additionally, he was awarded a NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in 2023. Oberman's translation skills have also been acknowledged, as evidenced by his winning the John Frederick Nims Memorial Prize For Translation in 2013 for his translation of selections from the "Old English Rune Poem".

Oberman has published two collections of poems and translations: "The Unstill Ones" in 2017 through Princeton University Press, and "Impossible Things" in 2024 through Duke University Press. He is involved in various literary endeavors, serving on the board of Brooklyn Poets and working as an editor at Broadsided Press. Oberman also teaches at Eugene Lang College at The New School. He holds academic degrees from Sarah Lawrence College, Georgia College, and the University of Connecticut, where he earned his PhD in English. Currently, he resides in Queens with his family, including his wife, Louisa Rachel Solomon, a rock singer and rabbinical student.
